Environment and Print
Environment and print are not exactly something that go hand in hand but at SPM we are very conscious of this and do all we can to ensure that we are as environmentally friendly as possible. All chemical and hazardous waste is strictly managed and collected by approved companies.
Whenever possible we use inks produced using vegetable oils and we offer knowledgeable advice and guidance on the use of recycled papers and boards. Our waste paper and our printing plates are all recycled. Every little bit helps no matter how insignificant it may seem. Our modern presses have programmable wash up devices that significantly reduce the amount of solvent used, although even this is bio-degradable.
At SPM we are always striving to not only offer our customers unrivalled quality and service, we aim to go that extra mile and offer something others can't.
With this in mind we are pleased to announce that in June 2007 SPM were awarded ISO14001 certification, this is the highest environmental accreditation available and is recognised worldwide.
Further proof of our commitment to these very important issues was provided in August 2007 when SPM were also awarded FSC® certification.
Then in December 2010 SPM were officially awarded Carbon Neutral Company status which means that we have reduced our carbon footprint to a level which allows us to offset the remainder through carbon offsetting schemes thus making our whole print production process Carbon Neutral.
We are one of the few printers in the country to hold all of these highly respected accreditations.

- June 2007 SPM were

this is the highest environmental accreditation available and is recognised worldwide. - August 2007 SPM were awarded FSC certification, this is an international organisation dedicated to responsible management of the worlds' forests.
- December 2010 SPM were officially certified as a Carbon Neutral Company.
- July 2012 SPM were awarded ISO9001 quality accreditation.
- January 2013 SPM were awarded the Carbon Smart silver certification.
