Today, companies around the world are increasingly being held accountable for their 'carbon footprint' by investors, staff and customers. In fact, the extent to which a company tackles its contribution to climate change is becoming a key measure of business performance.
We are considering all factors in becoming a carbon balanced company, as an extension to our FSC and ISO14001 accreditations. Part of our ISO14001 targets for 2008 was to reduce our factory lighting energy usage by 35%. To do this we changed all fluorescent tubes to five foot energy saving tubes, this is the start of a number of initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint.
Once we have reduced our carbon footprint sufficiently we will assess it and look at ways to offset it through The Carbon Neutral Company and the carbon offsetting projects that they support. We will also be able to produce carbon neutral publications.
